Mesom Singhi Clinches National Gold; Arunachal CM Pema Khandu Applauds Feat

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has extended his congratulations to state karateka Mesom Singhi after she secured the top podium finish in the Senior Female Individual Kata category at the KIO National Karate Championship 2026.

The national-level tournament took place in New Delhi between February 26 and March 1, drawing leading karate athletes from across the country. Singhi’s latest triumph marks her second successive gold medal at the championship, underlining her consistency and dominance in the discipline.

In a message shared on the social media platform X, the chief minister commended the athlete’s perseverance and commitment to excellence. He described her back-to-back national titles as a reflection of her rigorous training, focus, and competitive resolve.

Khandu noted that although Singhi represented Hyderabad at the championship, her accomplishment has brought immense pride to her home state of Arunachal Pradesh. He said her performance on the national stage once again highlighted the growing sporting talent emerging from the northeastern state.

The chief minister further expressed confidence that Singhi’s success would serve as an inspiration to aspiring sportspersons across Arunachal Pradesh. He emphasised the importance of dedication and hard work in achieving sporting excellence and encouraged young athletes to pursue their goals with determination.
