"A prominent businessman and a Panchayati Raj institution leader were allegedly abducted by the NSCN (K-Ang Mai) militant group in Tirap district, raising serious security concerns along the India–Myanmar border.Advertisment The Indian Army suspects that the two individuals — businessman Vijay Shankar Agarwala and local PRI leader B. Lamati — have been taken across the border into Myanmar. The abduction reportedly took place on Thursday in the Lazu area of Tirap district. According to security sources, the banned NSCN (K-Ang Mai) faction had earlier demanded money from Agarwala. When he went to deliver the ransom at a designated location last week, both he and Lamati went missing. It is now believed that instead of releasing them after receiving the payment, the militant group transported the duo to an undisclosed location in Myanmar. The Arunachal Pradesh Police have registered a case and, along with the Indian Army, launched extensive search and rescue operations. Despite ongoing efforts, the two individuals remain untraceable. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and operations continue along the sensitive border region to locate and safely rescue the abducted individuals.
