“The Prime Minister will directly fly from New Delhi to Chabua and will not land in Guwahati initially. He will depart from New Delhi around 7:15 am and reach Chabua Air Field at approximately 9:50 am,” CM Sarma said. From Chabua, the Prime Minister will proceed to Moran, where he will land at the emergency landing field built on the national highway.

According to the Chief Minister, the Prime Minister will first land on the highway and will be taken to a small stage set up at Moran. At the same time, an aerial display by at least 16 Indian Air Force aircraft will be conducted.

“Some of the aircraft will land on the highway, while others will perform fly-pasts. Rafale and Sukhoi fighter jets, along with other aircraft that performed earlier in Guwahati, will be part of the show,” he said.

At around 12:30 pm, Prime Minister Modi will depart Moran and fly directly to Guwahati in an Air Force aircraft, without stopping at Dibrugarh or Chabua airports. In Guwahati, he will inaugurate the Guwahati–North Guwahati extradosed bridge.

“India has only two or three extradosed bridges. This is not just a bridge but an architectural marvel built by our local PWD engineers, not the National Highways Authority. It cannot be compared with the existing Saraighat bridge,” Sarma stated.

After inaugurating the bridge, the Prime Minister will visit Lachit Ghat to inaugurate the temporary campus of IIM Guwahati. He will also inaugurate a high-end AI-enabled data centre in Amingaon developed by the National Informatics Centre, which was announced during Advantage Assam 2.0 by Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. Additionally, he will dedicate 100 new electric buses to the city, with the state planning to phase out petrol and diesel buses in the coming years, supported by a fleet of 400 EV buses and 100 CNG buses.

At around 2 pm, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will proceed from Lachit Ghat to Khanapara to attend and address the BJP Booth Convention. Representatives from nearly 30,000 polling booths across Assam are expected to participate in the event, with two to three delegates from each booth and additional booth-level workers from Guwahati city. Nearly one lakh booth-level karyakartas are likely to attend the convention.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted the strength of the party’s grassroots organisation, saying,

“Each booth has around 21 booth-level workers, and we have nearly seven lakh booth-level workers across Assam, which no other party has. That is why the BJP is so strong on the ground. Our booth-level karyakartas are always active and accessible on phone.”

He added that the Prime Minister will fly back to New Delhi on the same day after the event.

Chief Minister Sarma also announced that on February 21, the CRPF Raising Day celebrations will be held at Sarusajai Stadium, marking the first time the event is being organized outside CRPF campuses for public viewing. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and CRPF Director General G.P. Singh will attend the event, offering Guwahati residents a rare opportunity to witness the ceremony.
