Assam: Elephant calf named Mayabini in Kaziranga National Park

As the state of Assam is trying hard to cope up with the untimely demise of Zubeen Garg even after 2 weeks of the tragedy, a heartwarming incidence has brought smile to everyone’s face. An elephant named Kuwari in Kaziranga National Park and Tiger reserve recently gave birth to a calf which has been named ‘Mayabini’ on 4^th October, World Animal Day.

Assam Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Chandra Mohan Patowary shared the news on his X account:

The song ‘Mayabini’, sung by Zubeen Garg, became an anthem for his fans after his death, as the late singer once jokingly mentioned that this particular song should be played in his funeral.
