Under Prerona, each student appearing for the matric exam will receive a monthly allowance of ₹300 for refreshments over a period of four months. The government believes this support will help students maintain better health and focus during one of the most crucial phases of their academic journey.

The announcement has generated widespread appreciation among students and educators across the state. Learners from various institutions expressed excitement over the initiative, while teachers welcomed the government’s decision wholeheartedly.

According to educators, the scheme is expected to provide much-needed relief to economically disadvantaged students. They also believe the additional support will contribute to improved performance and a higher pass percentage in the upcoming High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examinations.

Many have extended their gratitude to the Chief Minister of Assam and the state government, calling the initiative a timely and thoughtful step toward strengthening Assam’s education sector.
