Assam Govt Issues Urgent Notice to Ration Card Holders; Distribution Open Till December 10

As per the government’s announcement, Antyodaya and Anna Yojana (AAY) households will receive 35 kg of rice, while Priority Household (PHH) beneficiaries are entitled to 5 kg of rice per member

The Assam Government has issued an urgent directive to all ration card beneficiaries, asking them to collect their allotted food grains and essential items on or before December 10.

As per the government’s announcement, Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) households will receive 35 kg of rice, while Priority Household (PHH) beneficiaries are entitled to 5 kg of rice per member. Along with rice, beneficiaries can also buy:

  • Masoor dal at ₹69 per kg

  • Sugar at ₹38 per kg

  • Salt at ₹10 per packet

The Assam Government has also issued strict instructions to Fair Price Shop (FPS) dealers. All FPS outlets must remain open daily during the Anna Seva Divas distribution period. Dealers have been directed to:

  • Issue mandatory e-POS receipts for every transaction

  • Ensure no quantity-cutting or manipulation in rice distribution

  • Maintain complete transparency in the sale of dal, sugar, and salt

The government has warned that any form of malpractice by shopkeepers will lead to strict action. Beneficiaries can lodge complaints regarding irregularities by calling the toll-free helpline 1800-345-3611.

The Assam Government has urged all beneficiaries to collect their ration within the stipulated 10 days and immediately report any misconduct.
