The operation was carried out under the supervision of Barpeta District Police Superintendent Sushant Biswa Sharma.AdvertismentAccording to reports, the Tarabari police, led by Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch) Bidyut Bikash Bora Bhuyan and SDPO Jitesh Barman, received a tip-off about the presence of drugs in the area. Based on this information, Officer-in-Charge of Tarabari Police Station Sanjay Kumar Roy, along with Majdia police, conducted a search operation in Majdia.During the operation, a notorious drug trafficker attempted to evade arrest by speeding away from Majdia towards a nearby village. The seizure was made in the presence of SDPO Jitesh Barman, Circle Officer and Executive Magistrate Minakshi Barman, and transport department officials.The seized suspected heroin weighs 123.85 grams and is valued at approximately Rs 25 lakhs.
