Assam: Journalists brutally attacked in Morigaon

In a shocking incident, two journalists, Manabendra Nath of a private TV channel and Abuddin Rahman, a video journalist with DY365, were brutally attacked by a group of miscreants in Morigaon's Lothabari area on Tuesday night.

According to eyewitnesses, the attackers, allegedly under the influence of liquor and drugs, assaulted the journalists, causing serious injuries. The victims were later admitted to a local hospital and later shifted to a private hospital in Guwahati for further treatment.

The Morigaon police have taken swift action and arrested three individuals - Manab Haldar, Rajdeep Bordoloi, and Krishna Bora - in connection with the incident. However, several others involved in the attack are still absconding.

The incident has sparked widespread concern about the growing menace of substance abuse and lawlessness in the area. The local administration has been criticized for its alleged inaction, with many questioning the effectiveness of the authorities in maintaining law and order.
