On January 17, in the presence of Adarniya Shri @narendramodi Ji, 10,000+ artists will perform Bagurumba in Guwahati. That event, marking 200 years of Assam Tea, was also attended by PM Modi, Chief Minister Sarma, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, and ambassadors from over 60 countries. The Prime Minister even joined in by playing the dhamsa, a traditional drum of the tea garden community.The Jhumoir event featured an elaborate laser show and fireworks, highlighting Assam’s cultural vibrancy. Reflecting on the occasion, PM Modi said that just as the people of Assam are closely connected to tea and their traditional art forms, he too shares that bond.
