Aseesh Majumdar, a Dibrugarh native and resident of Lal Ganesh, Guwahati, was picked up from Railway Gate No. 4 and taken to the station, where he was subjected to severe physical assault by RPF officer Deka.

Majumdar, who was at the station last night, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. The incident has sparked outrage, with allegations of unwarranted police brutality.

Details of the incident are still emerging, and it remains to be seen what action will be taken against the errant officer.
