"GUWAHATI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Assam Pradesh has organized an essay competition together with a statewide social media reel contest which serves as a public outreach program before the upcoming elections. Advertisment Union Minister Pabitra Margherita explained to the media in Guwahati on Tuesday that the BJP Assam Pradesh Social Media Department will execute the programme across Assam to promote social participation. The essay competition includes three age groups which require participants to write about BJP's role in shaping Assam's future and their work for transparent governance and recruitment processes and their plans to maintain Assam's security and development until 2047. Margherita informed that participants must submit their essays in document or PDF format via WhatsApp before the March 15 deadline. The winners of each category will receive cash prizes which include ₹25,000 for the first prize and ₹15,000 for the second and ₹10,000 for the third. The reel contest invites participants to showcase development work in Assam through their entries which focus on the theme "Developed Assam Progressive Assam" and showcase development work in the state from the last five years. Participants can upload short videos which show infrastructure projects and welfare initiatives through Facebook or Instagram, and must send their video links to the party's designated WhatsApp number from February 26 until March 15. Advertisment The reel competition offers first place a prize of ₹2 lakh while second place receives ₹1 lakh and third place wins ₹50,000 together with special jury awards which will be given to 100 selected participants. The judges who will determine the winners possess specialized knowledge in cultural fields. The Union Minister announced the initiative while he criticized the opposition because he said that Congress leaders and supporters can make reels like anyone else who wants to join the initiative. His remark functioned as a mocking challenge because he suggested that the opposition could show their vision for developing Assam through the contest.
