Addressing a press conference at the party’s state headquarters, BJP state spokesperson Kalyan Gogoi said Nabin will arrive at Mohanbari Airport at 1:00 PM on February 18. He is expected to be received by party workers and cultural troupes and will proceed in a procession to Mancotta Playground, where he will attend the BJP’s Page Pramukh Sammelan. The party claims that more than 20,000 Page Pramukhs are expected to participate in the event.

Later in the day, Nabin will attend the Prabuddha Nagarik Sammelan at the District Library Auditorium and hold an organisational meeting with party leaders and workers from the Dibrugarh and Lakhimpur Lok Sabha constituencies.

On February 19, he is scheduled to visit Barekuri Namghar to offer prayers, pay floral tributes at the samadhi of Swargadeo Sarbananda Singha, and interact with booth-level party workers at a tea garden booth in Dibrugarh, marking the conclusion of his Assam tour.

During the press conference, the BJP spokesperson criticised the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), alleging that the party is being influenced by what he termed “Miya civilisation” politics. He described APCC President Gaurav Gogoi as aligned with such an approach and accused the Congress of minority appeasement.

The spokesperson further stated that the 2026 Assembly elections would represent a contest between what he described as “Miya civilisation and Assamese civilisation.” He also welcomed the resignation of former APCC President Bhupen Kumar Borah, describing it as a decision taken by a “self-respecting Assamese leader.”
