 BJP to Launch Statewide Wall Writing Campaign from January 5; CM Sarma to Inaugurate

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Assam Pradesh, will launch a statewide wall writing campaign from January 5 as part of its preparations for the 2026 Assam Legislative Assembly elections. The campaign will be formally inaugurated by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP state headquarters, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan, BJP Assam Pradesh 2026 Assembly Election Management Committee Convenor and Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah said the party is fully prepared for the upcoming Assembly polls. He informed that election management committees have already been constituted at all Assembly constituency and panchayat levels across the state.

The press conference was also attended by Anup Barman, Co-Convenor of the Election Management Committee and General Secretary of the Assam Pradesh BJP.

Providing details of the campaign, Baruah said the wall writing programme will be inaugurated on January 5 in the presence of Assam Pradesh BJP President and Darrang–Udalguri MP Dilip Saikia. The ceremonial launch will take place in front of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara, under the Guwahati Capital Mandal, with Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma formally inaugurating the initiative.

Following the inauguration, BJP Members of Parliament, ministers, MLAs, state morcha presidents, district presidents, Zilla Parishad members, mayors, municipal chairpersons and anchalik panchayat members will simultaneously carry out wall writing activities in their respective areas across Assam.

Baruah said the campaign aims to take the party’s message directly to the people and highlight key governance priorities. In the first phase, slogans to be used in the wall writing campaign include messages focusing on the protection of civilisation and culture, safeguarding land and rights, women’s economic empowerment, transparent and merit-based recruitment, and the vision of a developed, secure and self-reliant Assam.

Slogans such as “Assam’s Security Is BJP’s Commitment — Assam Needs a BJP Government” and “Let Us Vote for the BJP for a Developed Assam” will also feature prominently.

He asserted that the wall writing campaign marks a significant step in strengthening the party’s grassroots outreach ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections and reflects the BJP’s confidence in seeking a renewed mandate from the people of Assam.
