Assam: Dhubri beneficiaries stage protest over subsidized rice scam allegations

A group of beneficiaries under the Vidyapara Cooperative Society in Adabari's second block, Chowmor area, staged a protest in front of a fair price shop, alleging that they haven't received their monthly rice allocation for the past two months. The beneficiaries, who are dependent on the subsidized rice, claim that despite repeated visits to the shop, they have been denied their rightful share.

The protesters suspect that the rice meant for them might have been sold in the black market. Some beneficiaries alleged that they even provided their fingerprints as required but still didn't receive the rice of their share. Furthermore, it was alleged that the shop owner has withheld some of the beneficiaries' ration cards, further complicating the issue.

The beneficiaries are demanding action against the shop owner for alleged corruption and irregularities in the distribution of essential commodities. They are seeking immediate intervention to resolve the issue and ensure that they receive their entitled share of subsidized rice.

The authorities are expected to take note of the matter and take necessary steps to address the grievances of the beneficiaries.
