Family of four embraces Hinduism in historic conversion ceremony

In a significant development, a family of four from Lumding, Hojai district, has formally converted to Hinduism, marking a new chapter in their spiritual journey. The family, previously following Islam, was drawn to the teachings and principles of Hinduism and decided to adopt the faith.

Following a legal conversion process, the family was warmly welcomed into the Hindu community in a sacred ceremony held at the Bharat Sevashram Sangha temple in Lumding. The ritual, steeped in tradition, underscored the inclusive spirit of Hinduism.

As part of their new identity, the family members adopted new names: Mofizul Islam became Motilal Das, Sania Begum became Chandana Das, Manu Islam became Montu Das, and Monira Begum became Monika Das.

In a heartfelt expression of their newfound faith, Motilal Das was heard chanting "Jai Shri Ram," symbolizing his devotion. The family emphasized that their decision to convert was voluntary, with Motilal Das affirming that they chose to embrace Hinduism out of genuine conviction.
