Guwahati: The State Election Commission, Assam on Tuesday has released the final electoral rolls across multiple districts following the Special Revision-2026 process, ensuring updated and accurate voter lists ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.

The revisions reflect new voter inclusions, deletions due to deaths, address changes, and other corrections across the state.

In Kamrup Metropolitan District, the final electoral roll encompasses five Assembly constituencies with a total of 10,49,644 voters, including 5,05,429 male voters, 5,44,183 female voters, and 32 voters identifying as third gender. Dispur constituency accounts for 2,43,176 voters, Demoria (SC) 2,16,949, New Guwahati 1,91,447, Guwahati Central 1,91,758, and Jalukbari 2,06,314 voters. The district has 1,218 polling stations. During the revision, 25,932 voters were removed due to deaths, address changes, or duplications, while 22,390 new voters were added. Specific reductions by constituency were 6,570 in Dispur, 4,150 in Demoria, 4,569 in New Guwahati, 6,333 in Guwahati Central, and 4,310 in Jalukbari. Citizens whose names were erroneously deleted can apply for inclusion through continuous revision procedures up to ten days before nominations. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) remain available to address any discrepancies.

In Baska District, the final rolls report 4,08,749 voters across two constituencies with 502 polling stations. In Manas constituency, 1,04,013 male voters and 1,02,586 female voters make up a total of 2,06,099 voters across 258 polling stations. The second constituency, Baska (ST), lists 99,872 male and 1,02,278 female voters, totaling 2,02,150 voters with 244 polling stations.

Dhubri District has five constituencies with a combined electorate of 12,17,797. Golakganj alone accounts for 2,03,876 voters, Gauripur 3,10,594, Dhubri 2,31,136, Birsingh Jarua 2,80,461, and Bilasipara 1,91,730. The Special Revision (SR) process led to the deletion of 21,978 voter names, including 13,872 women and 8,106 men, through procedures addressing deaths, address changes, and duplicates. In addition, a total of 26,605 objections were raised against voters across these constituencies, reflecting a rigorous verification process.

Lakhimpur District reports a total of 8,43,008 voters across five constituencies: Bihpuria with 1,66,640 voters, Rongandi 1,77,324, Naoboicha 1,72,811, Lakhimpur 1,63,526, and Dhakuakhana 1,62,703. Of these, 4,22,299 are male, 4,20,696 female, and 9 third-gender voters. The Special Revision resulted in 55,252 deletions and the addition of 19,399 new voters. The district has established 96 new polling centers to facilitate voting.

In Hojai District, three constituencies – Binakandi, Hojai, and Lamding – have a combined electorate of 7,62,422. Binakandi lists 2,68,443 voters (1,38,002 male, 1,30,438 female, 3 third-gender), Hojai has 2,50,410 voters (1,27,766 male, 1,22,643 female, 1 third-gender), and Lamding totals 2,43,569 voters (1,23,858 male, 1,19,710 female, 1 third-gender). A total of 37,993 voters were removed: 9,770 from Binakandi, 14,825 from Hojai, and 13,398 from Lamding, following verification and special revision procedures. The Hojai District Congress expressed strong objections to the deletions, warning of possible agitation if errors persist.

Dhemaji District final rolls include 5,81,848 voters across three constituencies: Dhemaji (ST) with 1,78,319 voters (88,580 male, 89,739 female), Sisisibargaon 1,81,483 (91,381 male, 90,102 female), and Jonai (ST) 2,22,046 (1,10,932 male, 1,11,114 female). Compared to the previous revision, the district gained 5,250 voters. Among the electorate, 3,622 voters are above 85 years of age, and 100 voters are over 100 years old. Special categories include service voters (1,214) and Persons with Disabilities (3,319).

In Sribhumi District, the final rolls record 9,40,649 voters across four constituencies after deletions, additions, and corrections. Karimganj North constituency decreased from 2,72,917 in the draft to 2,59,644 in the final roll, Karimganj South shows 2,84,408 voters, Patharkandi 1,80,201, and Ramkrishna Nagar (SC) 2,16,396. The revision process involved thousands of Form-6 submissions for new inclusions, Form-7 deletions, and Form-8 corrections, ensuring accuracy.

Cachar District finalized the electoral roll for seven Assembly constituencies, including Lakhipur, Udharbond, Katigorah, Borkhola, Silchar, Sonai, and Dholai (SC), listing 13,81,903 voters: 6,91,607 male, 6,90,283 female, and 13 third-gender voters. Comparisons with the draft roll indicate adjustments in thousands of voter names, reflecting deletions, corrections, and inclusions as per Form submissions.

Other districts also completed their special revisions. In Morigaon District, three constituencies – Jagirod (ST), Lahorighat, and Morigaon – now have a total of 7,76,915 voters. The revisions led to the deletion of 3,900 names, while new additions totaled 5,522, including 3,308 male, 1,912 female, and 4 third-gender voters.

Darrang District’s final voter count across three constituencies – Mangaldoi, Dalgaon, and Sipajhar – stands at 7,17,540, including 17 third-gender voters. Sipajhar has 2,01,883 voters (1,03,050 male, 98,829 female, 4 third-gender), Mangaldoi 2,00,373 (1,01,161 male, 99,209 female, 3 third-gender), and Dalgaon 3,15,284 (1,59,641 male, 1,55,633 female, 10 third-gender).

Nalbari District’s special revision resulted in 13,142 deletions, including 10,801 from Barkhetri, while new inclusions added 17,632 voters. Two Assembly constituencies – Rangkhong and Amri – now have 1,31,858 and 1,00,097 voters respectively, with detailed male, female, and third-gender counts provided.

Udalguri District’s final rolls cover four constituencies with a total of 6,94,848 voters: 3,44,446 male, 3,50,397 female. During the revision, 43,613 voters were removed, while 17,632 new voters were added. The deletions were distributed across the constituencies as follows: 11,343 in 45-Vergao, 13,432 in 46-Udalguri, 10,319 in 47-Mazbat, and 12,201 in 48-Tongla.

Tinsukia District’s final rolls, covering six constituencies, total 10,03,490 voters. Constituency-wise details include Tinsukia – 1,72,351 (84,022 male, 88,312 female, 18 third-gender), Makum – 1,58,430 (75,457 male, 82,967 female, 6 third-gender), Digboi – 1,47,098 (70,873 male, 76,223 female, 2 third-gender), Margherita – 1,76,109 (86,401 male, 89,708 female), Dumduma – 1,47,990 (69,867 male, 78,119 female, 4 third-gender), and Shadiya – 2,01,512 (1,01,122 male, 1,00,386 female, 4 third-gender).

Morigaon, Darrang, Nalbari, Udalguri, and Tinsukia districts finalized their rolls following rigorous verification and deletion processes, ensuring integrity of the electoral rolls.

It may be mentioned that the Assam Election Commission emphasized that any voter whose name has been erroneously removed can appeal under Section 24 of the Representation of Peoples Act, 1950, with submissions of Form-6 for late inclusions permitted up to ten days prior to nomination. BLOs and EROs remain available to address voter concerns, and all changes have been meticulously cross-verified to ensure transparency and accuracy.
