"GUWAHATI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will reach Assam tomorrow on a two-day visit and is expected to arrive in Dibrugarh at 9 pm.Advertisment On January 30, at 11 am, Shah will lay the foundation stone for the second complex of the Assam Legislative Assembly, including the newly constructed MLA residential complex and other buildings inside the campus. He will also dedicate a major water resources project to the people. One of the major events of the visit will be the inauguration of the first phase of Assam"s largest multidisciplinary sports stadium in Khanikar, Dibrugarh. The sports stadium, constructed at a cost of ₹233 crore on 104 bighas of land, has a seating capacity of 35,000 and is one of the most ambitious sports infrastructure projects taken up in the state. The sports complex is expected to make Dibrugarh a prominent sports destination, providing world-class facilities to sports persons in various disciplines. During his visit, the Union Home Minister will also participate in the Mising Youth Festival. In the evening, he will travel from Dibrugarh to Guwahati and is scheduled to arrive at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan at 4 pm. It is to be noted that the inauguration details were announced by Assam Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (ATDCL) Chairman Rituparna Baruah, who said the first phase of the mega sports project would be formally inaugurated by Amit Shah on January 30.
