Guwahati: Congress National General Secretary and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is set to visit Guwahati on February 19 and 20 to preside over key organisational meetings ahead of the Assam Assembly elections later this year, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) confirmed.

During her visit, which has been rescheduled, she will also head the screening committee responsible for shortlisting potential candidates for the forthcoming Assembly polls.

Ahead of her visit, the APCC organized a press conference at Rajiv Bhavan, addressed by APCC President Gaurav Gogoi and Convenor Jitendra Singh. Senior leaders Ripun Bora, Debabrata Saikia, and Rakibul Hussain were also present at the event.

Priyanka Gandhi’s two-day itinerary includes several important engagements across the state. She is scheduled to arrive at the airport at 10 a.m. on February 19, followed by a visit to Kamakhya Temple, before proceeding to Rajiv Bhavan for official meetings.

In the evening, until around 8 p.m., she will interact with district-level Congress leaders, block-level committees, and NSUI representatives. She will also review reports from district committees to assess ground-level situations.

During her visit, Priyanka Gandhi is expected to discuss a wide range of issues affecting Assam, with a particular focus on women’s concerns.
