Purabi Milk Chilling Centre: A new dawn for Majuli's dairy farmers

A major boost to the dairy farming sector in Majuli, a Milk Chilling Centre was inaugurated at Garmur Gobindapur today. The centre, named Purabi, aims to provide a convenient and efficient way for farmers to sell their produce at a fair price.

With around 26,000 cows out of 1 lakh 26 thousand cattle in Majuli, the centre is expected to benefit dairy farmers who previously faced losses due to lack of market access. The centre is equipped with modern cooling technology, enabling it to store large quantities of milk at optimal temperatures.

The centre's capacity to store thousands of litres of milk makes it a significant hub for dairy farming in the region. Using advanced cooling systems, milk can be chilled to 4 degrees Celsius, preserving its quality and freshness.

The establishment of the milk chilling centre is expected to positively impact the local dairy community, improving farmers' lives and contributing to the region's economic development. The centre was inaugurated by Majuli MLA Bhuvan Gam, along with Majuli Commissioner Ratul Chandra Pathak and other dignitaries, as well as local dairy farmers.

The centre is expected to provide a reliable and efficient way for farmers to sell their milk, ensuring they get a fair price. This move is likely to improve the livelihoods of dairy farmers in Majuli and boost the local economy.
