Talks With Gaurav Gogoi Positive, Alliance Near Finalisation: Lurinjyoti Gogoi

Addressing the media, Lurinjyoti Gogoi said that after one or two more rounds of meetings, all pending issues would be resolved.

“Only a few points remain to be discussed. The entire alliance framework is now on the path to resolution. Talks have reached the final stage, and everything will become clear within this week,” he said.

Commenting on the controversy surrounding alleged “Pakistan links” involving Gaurav Gogoi, Lurinjyoti Gogoi said the issue has no impact at all. He added that Gaurav Gogoi should write to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the matter.

“There is an attempt to mislead the public by creating confusion over the Pakistan link issue, but it has not affected anything,” he said.

Launching a sharp attack on the BJP, Lurinjyoti Gogoi said the ruling party has failed to fulfil the promises made to the people of Assam. “The Chief Minister has no real issues to take to the people anymore. That is why BJP is only indulging in Hindu–Muslim politics,” he alleged.

He further accused the BJP government of running the state through corruption, scams and syndicates.

“Today, the BJP is being run by illegal encroachers. The old BJP no longer exists in its present form. In the name of Lord Ram, the current BJP is running cattle syndicates,” he claimed.

Taking aim at Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Lurinjyoti Gogoi made serious allegations, calling him the “leader of illegal Bangladeshi networks,” a charge strongly contested by the BJP.

He asserted that Assam’s political scenario has changed since Thursday.

“Our main objective is to defeat the BJP. That is why all opposition parties will move forward together, hand in hand,” he said.

Clarifying speculation within opposition ranks, Lurinjyoti Gogoi dismissed reports of Ziaur Rahman leaving the party as false and termed them “baseless propaganda.”
