Draft Electoral Rolls for SR–2026 Published in Kamrup Metro; Electorate Rises by 1.63%

The Office of the District Election Officer, Kamrup Metropolitan District, on Saturday published the Draft Photo Electoral Rolls for the Special Revision (SR)–2026, with January 1, 2026 as the qualifying date.

The draft rolls cover five Assembly Constituencies (LACs) under the district — 33-Dispur, 34-Dimoria (SC), 35-New Guwahati, 36-Guwahati Central, and 37-Jalukbari.

Schedule for Special Revision 2026

According to the official notification, the schedule for the Special Revision is as follows:

  • Publication of Integrated Draft Electoral Roll: December 27, 2025 (Saturday)

  • Period for filing claims and objections: December 27, 2025 to January 22, 2026 (Thursday)

  • Special campaign dates: January 3, 4, 10 and 11, 2026

  • Disposal of claims and objections: By February 2, 2026 (Monday)

  • Final publication of Electoral Roll: February 10, 2026 (Tuesday)

Elector Strength as per Draft Electoral Rolls

As per the Draft Electoral Rolls for SR–2026, the total number of electors in the five Assembly Constituencies stands at 10,75,576, including 5,21,388 male voters, 5,54,151 female voters, and 37 third-gender voters.

Constituency-wise details are as follows:

  • 33 – Dispur: 2,49,746 electors (1,21,180 male, 1,28,552 female, 14 third gender)

  • 34 – Dimoria (SC): 2,21,099 electors (1,07,526 male, 1,13,567 female, 6 third gender)

  • 35 – New Guwahati: 1,96,016 electors (94,390 male, 1,01,621 female, 5 third gender)

  • 36 – Guwahati Central: 1,98,091 electors (97,885 male, 1,00,202 female, 4 third gender)

  • 37 – Jalukbari: 2,10,624 electors (1,00,407 male, 1,10,209 female, 8 third gender)

Increase in Electors Compared to SSR–2025

A comparison with the Final Electoral Roll of SSR–2025 (published on January 6, 2025) shows an overall increase of 17,548 electors, reflecting a 1.63 per cent growth in the electorate across the five constituencies.

The total electorate increased from 10,58,028 in SSR–2025 to 10,75,576 in SR–2026. The increase includes 6,682 male voters and 10,867 female voters, while the third-gender voter count saw a marginal decrease of one.

Constituency-wise percentage increase is as follows:

  • Dispur: Increase of 5,016 voters (2.01%)

  • Dimoria (SC): Increase of 3,391 voters (1.53%)

  • New Guwahati: Increase of 1,544 voters (0.79%)

  • Guwahati Central: Increase of 2,273 voters (1.15%)

  • Jalukbari: Increase of 5,324 voters (2.53%)

‘D’ Voters and Service Voters

The Draft Electoral Rolls also record 3,822 ‘D’ (Doubtful) voters across the district, including 1,825 male and 1,997 female voters. In addition, there are 912 Service Voters.

Constituency-wise details include:

  • Dispur: 352 D voters, 261 Service Voters

  • Dimoria (SC): 1,765 D voters, 373 Service Voters

  • New Guwahati: 80 D voters, 79 Service Voters

  • Guwahati Central: 1,172 D voters, 83 Service Voters

  • Jalukbari: 453 D voters, 116 Service Voters

Polling Station Details

A total of 1,218 polling stations have been finalised in the draft rolls after rationalisation, including 105 newly created polling stations.

Of the total polling stations, 992 are located in urban areas and 226 in rural areas.

Assembly Constituency-wise polling station distribution is as follows:

  • Dispur: 272 polling stations (all urban)

  • Dimoria (SC): 262 polling stations (100 urban, 162 rural)

  • New Guwahati: 219 polling stations (all urban)

  • Guwahati Central: 218 polling stations (all urban)

  • Jalukbari: 247 polling stations (183 urban, 64 rural)

Additionally, there are 418 polling station locations across the district, with varying numbers of polling stations housed at each location.

Claims, Objections and Inclusion of New Voters

All voters have been urged to visit their respective polling stations to verify their names in the draft electoral rolls. Eligible citizens whose names are missing, or who seek correction of particulars, deletion, or transposition of entries, may submit claims and objections using Forms 6, 6A, 7 and 8 between December 27, 2025 and January 22, 2026.

Indian citizens who will attain 18 years of age on April 1, July 1, or October 1, 2026, may submit advance claims for inclusion using Form 6.

Claims and objections may be submitted to the concerned Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) or Booth Level Officer (BLO). Online submission facilities are also available through voters.eci.gov.in and the Voter Helpline App.

The Election Office has appealed to all eligible voters in Kamrup Metropolitan District to actively participate in the revision process to ensure an accurate and inclusive electoral roll ahead of future elections.
