The aircraft, which had departed from Acapulco on the Pacific coast, was carrying eight passengers and two crew members.State Civil Protection Coordinator Adrián Hernández Romero told reporters that the plane appeared to have tried landing on a nearby soccer field before striking the metal roof of a business, igniting a large fire. Although initial reports suggested varying fatality figures, seven bodies were recovered hours after the crash, with some sources indicating up to 10 fatalities were possible as recovery efforts continued.No injuries were reported on the ground, but the blaze prompted the precautionary evacuation of around 130 people from nearby facilities.San Mateo Atenco Mayor Ana Muñiz Neyra visited the crash site and urged residents to avoid the area to allow emergency responders to work safely.
