A massive explosion struck Quetta, the capital of Pakistan’s Balochistan province, claiming the lives of at least eight individuals, including three Frontier Corps members, and injuring several others.

The blast occurred in the vicinity of Zarghoon Road, near the Frontier Corps headquarters.

Media outlets reported that Pakistan’s security forces successfully thwarted an attack by neutralising four militants attempting to breach the Frontier Corps headquarters in Quetta.

In response to the incident, the Balochistan Health Department declared a state of emergency across hospitals in the city to manage the crisis.

The injured were promptly transported to the Accident and Emergency Department of Civil Hospital and the Trauma Centre for urgent medical care.
