Burglary at Mary Kom’s Faridabad Home While She Attends Event in Meghalaya

The residence of six-time world boxing champion Mary Kom from Manipur was burglarised last week as she was in Meghalaya for an event, officials confirmed.

The incident reportedly took place on September 24 while Kom was in Meghalaya for a marathon event in Sohra.

Kom was informed of the break-in by her neighbours during the Northeast event. Visibly shaken, she shared her distress with the event organisers, stating, “I feel anxious and unsettled. I was set to return to Delhi today, but this news has deeply affected me.”

She noted that the full scope of the theft would only be determined once she returns home to assess the situation. According to reports, CCTV footage captured the intruders stealing a television and other valuables from her Faridabad residence.

“I’m not at home right now. I’ll evaluate the losses once I’m back. The police have been informed,” Kom told a news agency.

A close associate confirmed that Kom’s neighbours quickly alerted her to the burglary, and she promptly filed a police report.

Hailing from Manipur, Mary Kom is a trailblazing figure in Indian sports. She holds the distinction of being the first female boxer to secure six world championship titles, cementing her legacy as a global boxing legend.
