He revealed that Transport Department officials, in collaboration with Chief Secretary DP Wahlang, have been tasked with consulting their counterparts in other states to examine their regulatory frameworks.Dhar urged all parties to avoid aggressive protests and maintain dialogue, noting that resolving the issue will require time and patience. He highlighted that the government and stakeholders are working together to find a resolution. For now, the situation remains unchanged, with AKMTTA having paused its agitation—launched on September 16—after the government assured a thorough review.The recent clash at Jorabat, a key entry point to Meghalaya, saw around 5,000 Assam-based drivers block both private and commercial vehicles from Meghalaya from entering Guwahati, escalating tensions between the two groups.
