According to Chief Minister Lalduhoma, PM Modi will arrive in Aizawl on September 12 and will spend the night in the state capital before formally opening the new railway line.

This railway line is a marvel of engineering, stretching 51.38 kilometers and passing through the Kolasib and Aizawl districts. The project features 48 tunnels spanning over 12.8 kilometers, 55 major bridges, and 87 minor bridges.

Notably, Bridge No. 144 over the Kurung River near Sairang is the world's second-tallest pier bridge, standing at an impressive 114 meters above the ground.

The new railway line will seamlessly connect Aizawl with Assam's Silchar town and the rest of the country, integrating Mizoram fully into the nation's railway map. This development is expected to enhance the state's accessibility and facilitate economic growth.

The engineering feat has garnered admiration from experts, with the project's complex terrain and innovative design making it a standout achievement. The Bairabi-Sairang railway line is a testament to India's growing railway infrastructure and its commitment to improving connectivity in the region.

Chief Minister Lalduhoma's discussion with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw regarding the PM's visit underscores the government's efforts to bring Mizoram closer to the rest of the country. With the inauguration of this railway line, Mizoram is poised to experience a new era of growth and development.
