The incident occurred at the Chief Minister's Secretariat during a program where appointment letters were distributed to over 1,000 AYUSH doctors. According to official sources, the recruits included 685 Ayurvedic practitioners, 393 Homoeopaths, and 205 Unani doctors.

While most received their letters digitally, Nitish Kumar personally handed them to 10 selected appointees.

When Nusrat Parveen, wearing a hijab that covered her face, approached the stage to receive her letter, the 75-year-old Chief Minister expressed surprise, reportedly asking, "What is this?" He then reached down from the raised platform and pulled the veil away from her face.

The doctor appeared visibly distressed and was quickly escorted aside by an official. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, standing nearby, was seen attempting to intervene by pulling at Kumar's sleeve.

Opposition parties, including the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress, swiftly condemned the action, sharing the video on social media and describing it as disrespectful. They labelled it as further evidence of the JD(U) leader's alleged declining mental stability.

No official statement has been issued by the Chief Minister's Office regarding the incident as of now. The video's authenticity has been widely circulated but awaits independent verification by multiple outlets.
