As far as land is concerned, borders can change. Who knows—one day Sindh may return to India,” Rajnath Singh said.Quoting former Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani, the Defence Minister recalled that Sindhi Hindus, particularly those who migrated during Partition, have never emotionally accepted the separation of Sindh from India. He highlighted the sacred status of the Indus River not only for Hindus across India but also, historically, for many Muslims in Sindh who regarded its waters as comparable to the holy Zamzam in Mecca. The remarks come months after Rajnath Singh expressed similar confidence about Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), stating in September during a visit to Morocco that PoK would accede to India on its own because people there were increasingly raising voices against Pakistani occupation. While the Defence Minister’s statement on Sindh is framed in cultural and historical terms, the assertion that “borders can change” has drawn attention amid India’s firm stance on territorial integrity and its continuing efforts to counter cross-border terrorism. Also Read: No Peace Talks with ULFA-I Until Paresh Baruah Personally Joins Table: Assam CM Himanta Biswa SarmaAdvertismentAdvertisment Read the Next Article
