The victims were identified as Meenu Dogra, 43, the wife of the suspect. The other three were identified as Gourav Kumar (33), Nidhi Chander (37), and Harish Chander (38). The suspect, Vijay Kumar, 51, of Atlanta, was arrested shortly afterwards.Police located him hiding nearby in a wooded area behind the home with the assistance of a K-9 unit.Three children were present in the house during the shooting. Terrified, they hid in a closet to escape the violence. One of them, the suspect's own child, called 911, providing critical details that enabled officers to arrive quickly.Fortunately, the children were unharmed physically and have since been taken into the care of a family member.Gwinnett County Police have charged Kumar with multiple serious offences, including four counts of felony murder, four counts of malice murder, four counts of aggravated assault, one count of cruelty to children in the first degree, and two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree.The incident is being investigated as domestic-related, stemming from an alleged family dispute. The motive remains under review.The Consulate General of India in Atlanta expressed profound sorrow over the tragedy, confirming that one of the victims was an Indian national. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), they stated, "We are deeply grieved by a tragic shooting incident linked to an alleged family dispute, in which an Indian national was among the victims.
