Police and paramilitary forces are heavily deployed in sensitive zones, maintaining strict surveillance to ensure law and order.”The last rites of two other victims, 24-year-old Stanzin Namgyal and 25-year-old Jigmet Dorjay, were conducted on Sunday. All four individuals lost their lives during violent clashes on September 24.Mobile internet services remain suspended in Leh, and prohibitory orders banning gatherings of five or more people are still enforced across significant parts of the Union Territory, including Kargil, where a shutdown was observed.The curfew was initially imposed on Wednesday evening after violent protests erupted during a shutdown organized by the Leh Apex Body (LAB), which demanded statehood for Ladakh and inclusion under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution. The clashes left over 150 people injured, including approximately 80 police personnel. Authorities detained over 60 individuals, including two councillors, with prominent climate activist Sonam Wangchuk among those held under the National Security Act (NSA) on Friday and subsequently transferred to Jodhpur Jail in Rajasthan.On Saturday, the curfew was eased for a four-hour period, which passed without incident, according to officials.
