The detainee, identified as Amir Rashid Ali from Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir, was arrested in the national capital.

According to NIA officials, Ali "collaborated with the prime suspect, Umar Un Nabi, in orchestrating the terrorist strike." He allegedly travelled to Delhi to assist in acquiring the white Hyundai i20 vehicle that was rigged as a car bomb and detonated. Records show the car was registered under Ali's name.

"The NIA, in tandem with Delhi Police, Jammu & Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, Uttar Pradesh Police, and other agencies, is aggressively pursuing interstate leads to dismantle the broader network and apprehend additional accomplices," the agency stated.

Delhi Police confirmed on Thursday through DNA analysis—matching samples from the blast site with the suspect's mother—that the perpetrator was Dr Umar Un Nabi, a physician at Al Falah Medical College in Faridabad, Haryana.

Reports stated that police sources disclosed a severed leg recovered from the wreckage was wedged between the steering wheel and accelerator, confirming Umar was driving at the time of the detonation.

Police have classified the incident as a high-level "white-collar" terror cell masterminded by a syndicate of medical professionals recently exposed by Jammu and Kashmir Police.
