Starting off with one runway and a modern passenger terminal, the airport is preparing to handle up to 6 million passengers in its first year. But that’s just the beginning. Over time, with additional runways and terminals, the facility is expected to expand as one of Asia’s largest airports, capable of handling a staggering 70 million passengers annually.

Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport has been stretched close to its limits for years. For residents of Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and much of western Uttar Pradesh, the launch of the new airport means shorter travel times, easier access to flights, and less dependency on Delhi’s already busy airspace.

The honor of being the first airline to fly out of Noida International Airport will go to IndiGo, India’s largest carrier. This will allow IndiGo to tap into a rapidly growing market while giving travelers more options without crowding Delhi’s existing hub.

Final Preparations are going through some last-minute activities. The Airports Authority of India is meticulously calibrating critical systems such as the air traffic control tower, while trial runs are going on under the Operational Readiness, Activation, and Transition phase. From baggage belts to boarding gates, every system is going through fast testing to ensure passengers get a flawless travel experience from day one.

This project is not only just about flights taking off and landing,it is more than just an Airport. Thousands of jobs across aviation, hospitality, logistics, and retail are expected to be generated. Tourism in Uttar Pradesh and beyond is also set to get a sharp boost.

It was a long-promised project on the drawing board and now it's only a few months away from reality. Noida International Airport symbolizes a new chapter in India’s aviation story. By November 2025, passengers will finally walk through the gates, marking the beginning of a future where traveling becomes faster and smoother.
