PM Modi's 3-day tour of Eastern India: Key highlights

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a three-day visit to five states, namely Mizoram, Manipur, Assam, West Bengal, and Bihar, from September 13-15.

During this tour, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for development projects worth over Rs 71,850 crore, focusing on enhancing connectivity and infrastructure.

The Prime Minister's visit aims to boost the region's development and provide a significant impetus to the local economy. Mizoram to Get a Boost in Connectivity

On September 13, PM Modi will visit Aizawl, Mizoram, where he will launch projects worth over Rs 9,000 crore. A significant milestone in the state's connectivity is the inauguration of the Bairabi-Sairang rail line, which will connect Mizoram to India's rail network for the first time. Additionally, three new express trains will be flagged off, establishing direct links between Sairang and Delhi, Kolkata, and Guwahati.

Manipur to See Significant Investments

In Manipur, PM Modi will lay the foundation stones for projects worth over Rs 7,300 crore in Churachandpur. Key inaugurations include a new civil secretariat, an IT SEZ building, and a new police headquarters at Mantripukhri. These projects are expected to enhance the state's administrative infrastructure, boost the IT sector, and improve law and order.

Assam to Benefit from Infrastructure Projects

During his visit to Assam on September 13-14, PM Modi will attend the 100th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. He will also lay the foundation stones for several key projects, including the Guwahati Ring Road, a bamboo-based ethanol plant at Numaligarh, and the Darrang Medical College & Hospital. These projects aim to improve connectivity, promote clean energy, and boost healthcare infrastructure in the state.

National Security and Military Preparedness to be Reviewed in West Bengal

On September 15, PM Modi will visit West Bengal, where he will inaugurate the 16th Combined Commanders’ Conference 2025 in Kolkata. This premier forum will review India's national security and military preparedness, bringing together top military officials to discuss key issues and challenges facing the country.

Bihar to See Massive Investments in Development Projects

In Bihar, PM Modi will launch development projects worth Rs 36,000 crore. The National Makhana Board will be launched to promote production, new technology development, and market development for Makhana farmers. Additionally, a new terminal building at Purnea Airport will be inaugurated, enhancing air connectivity and infrastructure in the state.
