President, Vice President and PM Hail Soldiers on Army Day

On the occasion of Army Day, the nation’s top leadership came together to honour the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of India’s soldiers, veterans, and their families.

President Droupadi Murmu, in her message, said the Indian Army continues to stand as a strong pillar in protecting the country’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. She noted that beyond guarding the nation’s borders, soldiers also play a vital role during natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies. The President added that the Army’s unwavering commitment to the principle of “Nation First” remains a source of inspiration for every citizen.

Vice President C P Radhakrishnan paid tribute to the officers, soldiers, and veterans of the Indian Army, acknowledging their discipline, bravery, and willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. He said the country remains deeply grateful for their selfless service and dedication to preserving national unity and integrity. The Vice President also remembered with respect the soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty, describing them as enduring symbols of courage and patriotism.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi echoed similar sentiments, saluting the Army for its steadfast commitment and resilience. He said the men and women in uniform continue to serve the nation with devotion, often under the most demanding circumstances. The Prime Minister added that their sense of duty strengthens the country’s confidence and earns the gratitude of millions. He also paid homage to those who made the supreme sacrifice while protecting the nation.

Army Day is observed every year to honour the bravery, service, and contributions of the Indian Army and to remember those who have given their lives in defence of the country.
