The fire broke out at the trauma centre of the hospital, where 11 patients were admitted. Dr Anurag Dhakad, the in-charge of the trauma centre said a short circuit is suspected to have caused the accident.

As fire broke out in the building, there was chaos. Smoke spread quickly across the floor, panicking patients and their families.

The fire damaged various documents, ICU equipment, blood sample tubes, and other stored items.

Hospital staff and attendants evacuated patients, even moving some on their beds outside. Firefighters arrived soon after and controlled the fire within two hours.

Families of the victims have accused the hospital staff of negligence. Jogendra Singh, who lost his mother in the tragic incident, said he warned the doctors about the situation four or five times, but they didn't take him seriously, and said it was nothing unusual.
However, these claims were refuted by centre in-charge Dr Dhakad. He said everyone in the team, including ward boys did their best to rescue the patients.

The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajanlal Sharma also visited the hospital to take a look at the situation. He took to his X account and described the situation as unfortunate.
