Thirty-seven newly elected members were sworn in at the Bodoland Territorial Council's Legislative Assembly building in Bodofa Nagar, Kokrajhar, marking a key milestone for the BTC.

The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) witnessed a significant event today as 37 newly elected members took oath at the BTC Legislative Assembly building in Bodofa Nagar, Kokrajhar. The ceremony, which began at 10 am, marked a crucial step in the council's functioning.

The members, belonging to the Bodoland People's Front (BPF), United People's Party Liberal (UPPL), and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), took oath in three languages - Bodo, English, and Assamese. Notably, 15 members took oath in Bodo, 14 in English, and 7 in Assamese.

Tridip Daimary, the pro-tem Speaker, administered the oath of office to the members. Some notable attendees included Hagrama Mohilary, Rihon Daimary, Rabiram Narzary, and Dhiraj Bargayari.

However, three members - Pramod Boro (UPPL chief), Rakesh Brahma, and Rekha Rani Das Boro (BJP member) - were absent due to personal reasons.

The council's proceedings will continue later today with the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker, scheduled for 12:45 pm.
