According to the Chief Minister, the Congress is allegedly planning to sell tickets in around 22–23 Assembly constituencies for amounts ranging between ₹3 crore and ₹5 crore. He stated that these constituencies are largely associated with the Miya community and alleged that party leaders are openly collecting money, even for personal purposes such as arranging weddings at home.

The Chief Minister further claimed that complaints and accusations related to this alleged ticket-selling would come to light publicly in the coming days. He asserted that the practice is ongoing across 22 to 23 constituencies in Assam.

Expressing concern for the Miya community, the Chief Minister said it was “unfortunate” that the community continues to support the Congress both financially and electorally, yet does not receive support when it faces difficulties. He alleged that despite voting for the Congress and contributing funds, the community is left without assistance during critical moments.

Referring to a recent eviction drive, the Chief Minister said that around 5,000 bighas of land were cleared in Tezpur on the same day. He claimed that the Congress did not extend any help to those who were evicted during the operation.

“I feel bad for the Miya community,” the Chief Minister said, alleging that while the community gives both money and votes to the Congress, the party fails to stand by it during times of need, particularly during eviction drives.

The Congress Party has not yet issued an official response to these allegations.
