Munna Bhai MBBS? Cachar Police bust fake medical certificate racket

In a major breakthrough, the Cachar Police have busted a large racket involved in producing fake medical certificates and arrested its alleged mastermind, Dr. Jayanta Prasad Das, popularly known as the “Munna Bhai MBBS” of Cachar.

According to police sources, Dr. Das, the owner of Mousumi Hospital in Silchar, was operating a massive scam by creating fake medical institution and selling counterfeit MBBS degrees in exchange for money.

Over the past few days, police have arrested 13 fake doctors linked to the racket. During interrogation, it was revealed that Dr. Das was the key figure behind the operation.

Investigations suggest that Dr. Das ran an illegal institution named the “National Institute of Medical Science”, through which he issued fake MBBS certificates. These forged degrees were allegedly used by individuals to open private hospitals and clinics across Cachar district.

Cachar Superintendent of Police Nomal Mahatta informed that Dr. Das’s own medical degree is suspected to have been obtained from a Bangladeshi institution, and not from any recognized medical college in India.

Apart from the fake certificate racket, police also suspect Dr. Das of involvement in human trafficking and operating a sex racket, disguised as a spa center in Silchar and other parts of Cachar.

The investigation is currently underway, and police are tracking down others associated with the fraudulent network.
