From the outset, West Indies dictated terms with the ball. A disciplined powerplay spell laid the foundation for the win, as the bowlers dismantled Nepal’s top order and kept the scoring under control. Matthew Forde impressed with the new ball, while Jason Holder produced a decisive four-wicket haul to break the backbone of Nepal’s innings.

Nepal struggled early and managed only a modest total after losing key wickets in the powerplay. Captain Rohit Paudel fell cheaply, and the side never quite recovered from the early setbacks. Dipendra Singh Airee provided resistance with a determined half-century, stitching together crucial runs with Sompal Kami late in the innings to push Nepal to 133 for 8.

Holder returned at the death to finish strongly, ending with figures of 4 for 27 and ensuring Nepal could not accelerate in the closing overs.

Chasing a manageable target, West Indies approached the innings calmly. An early wicket offered Nepal brief hope, but it did little to slow the Caribbean side. Shimron Hetmyer injected momentum with a brisk cameo, finding boundaries with ease and putting the chase firmly in control.

Captain Shai Hope anchored the innings with a fluent half-century, guiding his team to the target comfortably in the 16th over. The win marked a return to form for Hope and underlined West Indies’ growing confidence in the tournament.
