A Rocket launcher attack was carried out on an Indian Army camp in Kakopathar, Tinsukia district, Assam, on October 17, 2025, leaving three soldiers injured. The attack, which occurred in the early hours, involved the use of Rocket launchers and automatic firearms, triggering a fierce confrontation that lasted several minutes.

The militants arrived in a vehicle, launched the attack, and quickly retreated into the surrounding forested terrain. A vehicle used in the attack was later recovered near the Assam-Arunachal border. The injured soldiers were swiftly transported to a nearby military hospital, where they are receiving treatment.

The ULFA-Independent faction has claimed responsibility for the attack through an email. According to reports, the group stated that the attack occurred in the middle of the night, and rocket launchers were used to target the army camp.

A joint search operation has been launched by the army and police to locate the attackers. The area has been sanitized, and security forces are working to prevent similar incidents in the future.
