Tinsukia Municipal Board takes unconventional approach to tackle littering

In a unique move to enforce cleanliness, the Tinsukia Municipal Board (TMB) has dumped a heap of garbage in front of a shop in Daily Bazar area for littering on the road. The shop owner had been repeatedly dumping waste on the road, prompting the TMB to take action.

According to eyewitnesses, the shop's employee was seen dumping garbage on the road on Monday night. TMB workers caught the employee in the act and identified the shop. Instead of issuing a fine, the municipal workers decided to return the garbage to the shop.

The next morning, TMB workers arrived with a bulldozer and dumped the garbage in front of the shop, blocking its entrance. The viral video shows the garbage neatly leveled in front of the shop, serving as a stark reminder to the owner.

"We appeal to everyone to keep Tinsukia town clean. It is the responsibility of everyone to maintain the town's cleanliness," said Pulak Chetia, Chairman of the Tinsukia Municipal Board. The TMB's unconventional approach aims to promote civic sense and encourage residents and shopkeepers to dispose of waste responsibly.
