Speaking at a press conference, APW accused Vice-Chancellor Rajendra Prasad Das, former Registrar Arupjyoti Choudhury, former Vice-Chancellor Dr. Hitesh Deka, and Deputy Registrar Ratul Patowary of being involved in multiple scams and irregularities that have allegedly pushed the university into a deep crisis.

According to APW, the university has suffered significant setbacks due to “widespread corruption” under an outsider Vice-Chancellor, leading to institutional degradation and financial mismanagement.

Among the major allegations highlighted by APW are:

The Khanapara 9-bigha land scam

A construction scam involving an eight-storey building worth ₹108 crore

Irregularities and corruption in projects carried out in the Rani forest area

APW further alleged that former Registrar Arupjyoti Choudhury was involved in separate corruption cases during his tenure.

Former Vice-Chancellor Dr. Hitesh Deka has been accused of a major recruitment scam, including the alleged appointment of his own relatives in violation of established university norms.

The university’s Deputy Registrar Ratul Patowary has been accused of misconduct and harassment of female employees. APW claimed that Patowary subjected several women staff members to harassment in the name of "Live Kali Puja.”

In connection with these allegations, APW has reportedly submitted an affidavit to Raj Bhavan, urging action against Vice-Chancellor Rajendra Prasad Das for alleged administrative irregularities.

Currently, 12 cases related to KKHSOU are being heard in various courts, and APW claimed that the university has faced adverse rulings in all of them. Despite this, no disciplinary action has been initiated against the accused officials, APW stated.

APW has demanded strict action from the authorities to ensure accountability and restore transparency within the university., including the incumbent Vice-Chancellor, former office-bearers, and administrative heads.
