Ali leveled serious allegations against the Congress party, stating that it was plagued by corruption and that hardworking cadres were being ignored in favor of those with connections to influential leaders. "The Congress party is stuck in corruption, and those who toil for the party are not being given due recognition," Ali said.

Ali also criticized the party's ticket distribution process, alleging that as many as 12 people were vying for the Congress ticket in the Dalgaon constituency, leaving 11 would-be candidates feeling disenfranchised.

Praising the AIUDF, Ali said that party leader Mazibur Rahman had played a significant role in the assembly and had undertaken numerous development projects in the constituency. Mazibur Rahman, MLA and AIUDF leader, welcomed Rustam Ali and his supporters to the party, expressing confidence that their joining would strengthen the AIUDF in the region.
