Assam: Lady Don Geeta Pandey arrested in Silchar for extortion and hate speech

In a major breakthrough, the Silchar police have arrested Geeta Pandey, popularly known as Lady Don, on charges of extortion and making inflammatory remarks against the police and court. Pandey, who had allegedly formed a women's organization, was using it as a front to extort money from locals by threatening them.

According to reports, Pandey had vandalized a vegetable vendor's shop when he refused to yield to her demands. The victim had subsequently filed a complaint against her, which led to her arrest. Two days after the complaint, Pandey had made inflammatory remarks against the police and court in a Facebook live video, further escalating the situation.

The police had launched a manhunt to apprehend Pandey, and she was finally arrested yesterday. Her activities had been causing trouble in the area, and her arrest has brought relief to the locals.

The police are continuing their investigation into the matter, and more arrests are expected in connection with the case. The arrest of Lady Don Geeta Pandey has sent a strong message to those involved in anti-social activities in the area.
