Serious allegations have surfaced suggesting that mobile phones were being used inside the jail and that money was allegedly being collected in exchange for access to such facilities.According to Jamal’s wife, Rezowana Parbin, her husband had been calling her from inside the jail and repeatedly asking for money. She claimed that payments had to be made not only to certain jail staff members but also to other inmates. Rezowana reportedly sent ₹10,000 on several occasions but later began questioning how she could continue arranging such substantial sums.Unable to bear the financial pressure, Rezowana informed Sribhumi Police about the alleged illegal use of mobile phones inside the jail. Acting on the tip-off, a team led by Sribhumi Superintendent of Police Leena Doley conducted a raid inside the prison. During the operation, several mobile phones were reportedly recovered from within the jail premises.AdvertismentHowever, following the raid, Jamal Hussain was allegedly attacked by a group of fellow inmates. According to Rezowana, her husband was assaulted for allegedly revealing information about the use of mobile phones inside the prison.Rezowana has since lodged a formal complaint with the Superintendent of Police, seeking action over the alleged assault on her husband.
