"Tension prevailed along the Assam–Arunachal border after a violent incident was reported late at night in the Sesa Rajgarh area under Narayanpur. A group of youths allegedly from Arunachal Pradesh went on a rampage, assaulting two members of a family and vandalising a business establishment.Advertisment According to information available, the incident took place at the business premises of Basanta Bora. Late at night, after the family had gone to sleep, a few Arunachali youths arrived at the shop and forcibly demanded that it be opened. When Basanta Bora refused to comply, the group allegedly attacked him and his son. Not stopping at the assault, the miscreants reportedly attacked and damaged the business establishment, causing significant destruction. In the attack, Basanta Bora sustained serious injuries to his face, while his son suffered severe head injuries and required as many as 17 stitches. Both the injured were initially admitted to Dhalpur Hospital. However, considering the severity of their injuries, doctors referred them to Lakhimpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. Meanwhile, Basanta Bora"s wife has lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at the Simaluguri Police Outpost, seeking action against those involved in the incident. Local residents have alleged that such incidents have occurred repeatedly in the border area in the past, raising concerns over safety and law-and-order conditions in the region.
