Guwahati is all set to host the much-anticipated T20 International match between India and New Zealand on January 25, with the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) confirming that the city is fully prepared for the high-profile encounter. The match will begin at 7:00 pm at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara.

In an official statement, the ACA said that considering crowd management and security arrangements, stadium gates will be opened to spectators from 4:00 pm onwards to ensure smooth entry.

The international fixture, featuring two of the world’s top cricketing nations, has generated immense excitement among cricket fans in the region. Reflecting the enthusiasm, almost all tickets for the match have already been sold out. The strong public response has once again proved Assam’s growing impact as a preferred venue for international cricket.

Both the Indian and New Zealand teams are scheduled to arrive in Guwahati on January 24 via chartered flights. They are expected to land at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport at 5:05 pm. The ACA has made comprehensive arrangements to provide world-class facilities for players, match officials, broadcasters, and spectators, aiming to deliver a memorable match-day experience.

According to the Association, preparations have been carried out in strict adherence to ICC and BCCI protocols. Special focus has been given to pitch preparation, player amenities, broadcast infrastructure, and crowd management, while maintaining international standards across all operational aspects.

Emphasising safety and security, the ACA stated that spectator convenience remains its top priority. To ensure a safe, disciplined, and enjoyable atmosphere during the match, fans have been urged to strictly follow stadium rules and regulations.

The ACA has also released a list of items prohibited inside the stadium. These include:

  • Firearms, explosives, lasers, knives, firecrackers, and other hazardous items
  • Large flagpoles
  • Commercial video, photography, or audio equipment
  • Whistles, horns, vuvuzelas, and megaphones
  • Cosmetics, perfumes, and deodorants
  • Animals
  • Metal containers and glass bottles
  • Promotional or commercial materials
  • Criminal or political symbols
  • Roller blades, skateboards, and scooters
  • Compressed gas canisters and other flammable materials
  • Drones or unmanned aerial vehicles
  • Backpacks

The Association has appealed to all spectators to cooperate with stadium authorities, security personnel, and volunteers to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
