As part of the launch, tablet devices were distributed to members of the Mayor-in-Council, marking the beginning of the system’s operational use. The digital platform is designed to modernize the functioning of Mayor-in-Council meetings by enabling paperless proceedings and streamlined management of agendas and official records.

The programme was attended by Hon’ble Deputy Mayor Smt Smita Roy, GMC Commissioner Shri Chinmoy Prakash Phookan, along with senior officials of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation.

The e-MIC system is expected to enhance efficiency, improve transparency, and ensure smoother documentation and decision-making processes within the municipal body. By reducing dependence on physical files and paperwork, the initiative aligns with broader efforts to promote sustainable and accountable governance.

With the introduction of this digital solution, the Guwahati Municipal Corporation has reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging technology to strengthen urban governance and improve administrative effectiveness.
