The Ministry of Civil Aviation has taken a stern stance against IndiGo, directing the airline to clear all pending refunds for passengers impacted by recent flight cancellations by 8 pm on Sunday, December 7, 2025. This directive comes amidst widespread disruptions caused by the airline's operational issues, leaving many passengers stranded and frustrated.

According to the Ministry's press release, IndiGo has been instructed to complete the refund process for all cancelled or disrupted flights by the stipulated deadline. Additionally, the airline has been told to ensure that all baggage separated from passengers due to flight cancellations is delivered within the next 48 hours.

The Ministry has also made it clear that IndiGo will not be allowed to levy any rescheduling charges on passengers whose travel plans were affected by cancellations. Any delay or non-compliance in refund processing will invite immediate regulatory action, the Ministry warned.

Passengers who have been impacted by IndiGo's flight cancellations can track the status of their refunds online or contact the airline's customer service for assistance. According to IndiGo's refund policy, refunds are processed after deducting applicable cancellation fees, which may take up to 7 working days .

The Ministry's directive aims to protect passenger rights and ensure that airlines prioritize customer satisfaction, especially during times of operational disruptions.
