The incident reportedly took place in Ganirgram Part III under Katigorah. According to sources, Abul Kalam, a resident of the area, works in Mumbai for a living. Allegedly taking advantage of his absence, a BJP leader identified as Hilal Uddin fled with Kalam’s wife.

Hilal Uddin is said to be serving as the Shakti Kendra Pramukh of Tarinipur. The matter came to light after Abul Kalam was informed about the alleged elopement, following which he immediately returned home from Mumbai.

Upon confirming the incident, Kalam lodged a formal complaint against the BJP leader at Katigorah Police Station on Thursday. In his complaint, he alleged that Hilal Uddin abducted his wife and also took along their young son.

The distraught husband has appealed to the police to rescue his child at the earliest. He has further warned that if his son is not recovered, he may take the extreme step of committing suicide at the police station.

Police have received the complaint, and further investigation into the matter is expected to follow.
